The book comprises a series of recorded conversations between Arthur Thomas Ware, the author’s ‘little self’ (referred to as ego in psychological literature) and ‘Higher Self,’ that part of us which is closest to God.

A great many books have been ‘dictated’ to authors via the phenomenon known as Automatic Writing.  The most recent of these have been the best selling series, Conversations with God, Books 1, 2, and 3, Friendship with God, and Communion with God, by Neale Donald Walsch of the USA.  Walsch took his first automatic communication in 1993. I’ve been at it since 1968.

Divine Dialogue is the result of forty years of practice.   During this time the author has taken down far more than a million words by this method. This book deals with his experiences in how to master the technique.  Advice is given on what to do and, of equal importance, what not to do.  And this advice comes not only from the author’s little self but from that part of him purporting to be God.

The Raconteur is a 'Teach Yourself' book.   It descriges how one can become an oral storyteller or 'raconteur.'  Closely akin to public speaking, it is something which almost anyone can develop as a skill, providing they are willing to put in the time.

In the world of professional speaking there is a great deal of emphasis placed on 'telling stories' to make one's point.   However, there is very little literature on how to go about this.   In The Raconteur the author describes how to find material, how to put it together, and how to present it.

In The Raconteur it is the writer's sincere wish that, by familiarizing yourself with storytellng knowledge and techniques, your presentations will become even more interesting, moving, and effective.

About the author and this book.

Inner Quest - Our Search for Happiness results from a lifetime of study, mainly towards teaching people how they can become more satisfied; happier in their lives.  Arthur Thomas Ware - or Tom, as he prefers to be called - became interested in Metaphysics and Spirituality way back in the late 1960s.  His gift of Automatic Writing played a large part in this, as have since then, the twenty-five years and roughly 23,000 hours he has devoted to Vipassana Meditation.

Tom is a gifted storyteller and public speaker and has presented to over 38,000 people during the past sixteen years alone.   And, of course, he is an accomplished writer, Inner Quest being just one of a dozen major works.  This particular book contains the essence of the 146 lessons presented to his University of the Third Age (U3A) class held over eight continuous years between 2002 and 2008.

Arthur Thomas Ware has worked in a wide range of jobs in several countries.   He has even been an Antarctic expeditioner.   He is married to his wife of over fifty years, has three grown up children and four grandchildren.

                    Compiled by Dr. Roberto Assagioli

(Say the following affirmations slowly and thoughtfully)

"I have a body but I am not my body.   My body may

find itself in different condtions of health or sickness, it

may be rested or tired, but that has nothing to do with

my self, my real "I."   I value my body as my precious

instrument of experience and of action in the outer

world, but it is only an instrument.   I treat it well, I seek

to keep it in good health, but it is not myself.   I have a

body but I am not my body."

dit.

Picture

You might be wondering about that picture of me wearing the sheepskin
cap and the big wooly beard.   That black and white photo was taken of me towards the end of my year long sojourn on MacQuarie Island, which is a sub-Antarctic island roughly equa-distance from Tasmania, New Zealand and Antarctica.   In many ways my twelve months on MacQuarie changed my whole outlook on life.   Here I show you just one picture of what life on that place was like.    Yes, they're King Penguins, around half a million of them!
